How it works

  1. Peoplifi connects to your BioStar 2 server (on-premise or cloud) via the BioStar REST API
  2. Every 60 seconds, Peoplifi polls for new events and pulls attendance logs
  3. Events are matched to Peoplifi employee records by User ID
  4. Attendance is calculated against each employee's shift pattern in real time
  5. Payroll runs pull attendance from Peoplifi — no direct BioStar access needed at payroll time

Setup Guide

  1. In BioStar 2, create an API-scoped admin user with read access to Event Log
  2. In Peoplifi, go to Settings → Integrations → Suprema and paste the BioStar URL, username, and password
  3. Peoplifi tests the connection and lists all devices found on the BioStar server
  4. Map BioStar User IDs to Peoplifi employees (auto-match by email or manual CSV)
  5. Enable real-time sync and do a test punch
  6. Attendance appears in Peoplifi within 60 seconds

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Peoplifi require BioStar 2 Cloud or can it work with self-hosted?

Both. For self-hosted BioStar 2, the server needs to be reachable by Peoplifi (public IP or VPN). For BioStar 2 Cloud, setup is simpler — just API credentials.

What about older BioStar 1 deployments?

BioStar 1 is supported via CSV import (manual). BioStar 2 API integration is strongly recommended — migration is straightforward.

Can Peoplifi also control door access?

No. Peoplifi consumes attendance events only. Door access rules remain in BioStar. We read events; we do not write access permissions.
