How it started
Peoplifi is founded
Peoplifi started as a custom software development studio. We built web and mobile applications for clients across multiple regions.
We noticed the gap
Working with growing businesses, we kept seeing the same problem: payroll done in Excel, attendance tracked in notebooks, and statutory compliance handled manually or not at all.
Building the solution
We started building an internal tool for one of our clients — a payroll engine with automated tax and statutory deductions. Word spread quickly. More clients asked for the same thing.
Peoplifi launches
We productized the platform, added attendance tracking, leave management, biometric integration, and launched Peoplifi publicly as a modern HR and payroll platform.

How we build software differently
HR software has a reputation problem. Most platforms feel like they were designed by people who have never run payroll, never onboarded a new hire, and never had to terminate someone with dignity. Peoplifi exists because we have done all three — and we built the tool we wished existed.
1. Self-serve from day one
You can sign up for Peoplifi, import 50 employees, run your first payroll, and have time tracking live across your team in under an hour. No demo gate, no implementation consultant, no forced annual contract. We publish our pricing on the website and let our product earn the next month's subscription.
2. Modern stack, native everywhere
Peoplifi is built on a modern web stack with native iOS and Android apps, plus a desktop time-tracking agent for Windows, macOS, and Linux. Most of the legacy HR software we replace still expects you to remote into a Windows server. Modern HR should feel like Slack, not like Lotus Notes.
3. Compliance is the floor, not the ceiling
FLSA overtime calculations, multi-state tax filing through Gusto, ACA reporting, COBRA notice generation, EEO-1 reports — these are the table stakes. We get them right, then we focus on the experience: how fast you can run payroll, how clean the onboarding feels for a new hire, how easy it is for a manager to approve a timesheet from a phone in five seconds.
4. Privacy by default
We do not sell data. We do not use customer payroll, time, or biometric records to train AI models. Biometric templates stay on the punch device — Peoplifi only stores hashed events. We comply with the CCPA, the CPRA, the EU GDPR, the UK GDPR, the VCDPA, and the Colorado CPA, and our DPA covers Standard Contractual Clauses for international transfers.
5. Built to ship
Most HR vendors release features quarterly. Peoplifi ships multiple production deployments every week. Our public roadmap and changelog show what we are working on next, what we shipped last week, and how we prioritize customer requests. Three out of every four features we build trace back to a specific customer request — not a competitive analysis or a board slide.
