Sindh Employees Social Security Institution — the Sindh counterpart to PESSI.
SESSI (Sindh Employees Social Security Institution) provides social security for employees working in Sindh province. Like PESSI, it operates under the Provincial Employees Social Security Ordinance 1965 as adopted by Sindh, with contribution rates of 6% employer and 1% employee on a capped wage ceiling (currently PKR 25,000 in Sindh, higher than Punjab's PKR 10,000 ceiling).
SESSI covers medical treatment at SESSI-run facilities, sickness benefits, maternity leave, injury compensation, and death grants. Registration is done at the SESSI headquarters in Karachi or a regional office, with monthly contribution returns filed through the SESSI online system.
Businesses operating across multiple provinces must register separately with each provincial board (PESSI, SESSI, KPESSI, BESSI) based on the location of their establishments. A company with one factory in Lahore and one in Karachi would file with both PESSI and SESSI, while employees in Karachi are eligible for SESSI facilities only.
Our Karachi plant files SESSI contributions for 85 eligible workers every month.
